Um, yikes. Time’s going by rather alarmingly quickly, isn’t it?
This scarf has been on my rigid heddle loom (Ashford 24″) for months and months, since before I moved! It was even still in its plastic garbage bag under my desk until I decided this week that it was high time to finish it. And of course once I picked it up again, I was finished in 2 hours!
That led to warping the loom up again, and right now I have 2 scarves have their soak. The loom is empty just now, but I might even warp it up again tonight.
A knit I’m really excited by, but was putting off because it’s fiddly – Some Assembly Required. Personally I’m not really one for knitting very fiddly things, especially small fiddly things (I’m pretty game for complicated sweaters and things). Toys are pretty challenging for me just because there’s so much finishing and fiddling compared to the actual knitting! Give me a big swatch of stockinette any day.
That said, this is a pretty fun knit so far. I’ve only done the head, but I’m hoping to make a good dent in the torso-knitting this afternoon.
Oh, and just in case someone out there needs a yummy recipe to bring to one of those numerous parties this time of year?
Twix-alike bars! So good. The only changes I made were to add some sea salt to the caramel (probably about 1/2 to 3/4 tsp) and to cut the squares much, much smaller. Nom.

Ooh, the twix alike bars look really delicious! I don’t need to make them. I really, really don’t. I still have peanut butter pie at home.

The bars look nummy and so do the scarves! I’m thinking a loom may be on my list for 2010. What yarn did you use? I love the monochromatic look to both of them but the cream is simply lovely!
I’m looking forward to seeing the finished “some assembly required” project. I have been thinking about knitting it, but wondering if my patience would wear thin…
Your weaving is so beautiful! I envy you your loom access. Also: I must try those twix cookies. *bookmarks*

My aunt has been making those for years. I can’t stay out of them!
Wow this is the season for taking out the ridged heddle looms. Your blog post is like the 4th I have read! Your scarves are gorgeous. All this weaving is making me want one badly. Maybe I’ll splurge in January after taxes arrive. The pink scarf is just my favorite. Good luck on your little thing.
Yes, time is passing quickly! Wish I had some twix cookie bars to help me speed projects along!
Wow! I’ve been toying with the idea of picking up weaving, and those are so beautiful it makes me want to purchase a loom yesterday. Which one do you have? And I’m going to make those twixish bars–my favorite candy ever.
Oh my goodness yum!
That is a serious toy pattern… I’m excited to see how it turns out!
I am with you about fiddly things. I would rather put my time into something I am going to use like say…socks! I am not one for stuffed animals but did make a pillow pal for my nephew. I won’t be making another one. lol!
I don’t have the patience or time for fiddly right now. Sometimes I don’t mind it though.
i love both peanut butter and cheeze as the filling of my morning sandwhich.`-,
i am allergic to peanuts so i can only taste a bit of peanut butter even if i love it so much.~*`
