ultimate caramel corn

Ultimate Caramel Cornwas made and eaten. I used peanuts and a few hazelnuts, and white and semisweet chocolate. This was the first time I popped corn on the stove in oil and I’ll definitely do it again! Satisfying and crazy. And yummy.

finished HP scarf

My sister’s Harry Potter scarf (Prisoner of Azkaban style) was finished on time, which was Wednesday night – I washed it around midnight that night, and it was dry the morning of Christmas Eve. I put the fringe on then packed it right up to take to my parents’ house!

I used Cascade Venezia Worsted, a great blend of merino and silk, 3 skeins plus the fringe’s worth from a fourth skein. The gold stripes are Misti Alpaca Worsted. It isn’t accurate or anything, but I think it went over well.

I hope your holidays were wonderful!

Nice scarf! Love the two colors together! I never notice knits in movies… Have to see it again! And the corn looks really yummy too!

Just wondering if you bound off the ends with 3-needle bind off before adding the fringe…
Also, FYI, if you put 1/4 c. of popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag with the top folded down, you can make homemade microwave popcorn cheaply and safely. In my microwave it takes between 2 and 3 minutes. You can add oil to the bag if you want to (about 1 tsp.) but its not necessary.

It sounds like you had a great holiday. I gave my husband a hot air popcorn popper, which would be perfect for us to make this. Great for parties without the nuts (poor friends with nut allergies).

Hey Laura! I saw you on the subway a couple of hours ago. You were getting off one car while I was getting on another. I noticed immediately your awesome Lady Eleanor.

Popcorn popped on the stove is the only way to do it! I have to try that caramel corn!
