Monday we headed out at a decent hour and drove down to Waimea Canyon. None of my photos really do it justice, but it was pretty awesome! I took some photos on the scenic drive up to the top:
Unfortunately once we got to the overlook at the top, the elevation had me feeling all funny (3600 ft). I only lasted a couple minutes on the overlook before I had to get back to the car and sit down.
But I did managed to snap enough to put together a cool panorama. Still doesn’t really capture it, but it was really fun to make! See a larger version on a black background, Click!
On the way back we stopped at the Kauai Coffee Plantation – they had great tastings (and they have a coffee club) and lots to buy. And I even ran into a reader! Hi Linda, it was great to meet you.
Capped off the day with a trip to a nearby Farmer’s Market. I got a bunch of eggplant for $2, and my mom picked up some guavas and papayas.
Now I’m all panorama-crazy, here’s one of Hanalei Bay that I put together from photos I took the other day.

I think you’re in Hawaii at the same time as the Keyboard Biologist – I think she just went to the same canyon. I just bought a couple of your patterns today and I’m looking forward to knitting them – I’m almost done with my Amelia sweater.
I love your panoramic shots. They are gorgeous!
Yay! I am so glad that you went to Waimea and the Coffee Plantation. Both great places. My girls tried a bunch of samples there with lots of milk and sugar. The have great fraps and we are on their coffee club! It’s awesome like 14.99 for a pound/month or something. Yum it is awesome! So cool!
