It’s Canada Day!
I’ve got me Canadian beer…
…and some butter tarts (from the farm where we went strawberry picking; I like mine with either pecans or raisins)…
Everything I need to celebrate Canada’s 141st birthday! I love this country.

Butter tarts are almost exactly like the pecan pie that is so popular in the southern portion of the US – especially in the Carolinas and Georgia, where my family originated. Even though I have lived in California for over 45 years pecan pie is still a major element in any holiday dinner I make. I can’t think of anything better to eat in celebration of a special day – enjoy!
