Feeling the chill? Cozy cables are just what you need! The ribbony Sheepfold Cable runs up the fronts of this aran weight cardigan, flanked by tiny three stitch braids that are echoed on the sleeves. A tidy garter stitch waist detail adorns the otherwise simple and easy back. Functional pockets and a mini shawl collar complete this classic everyday cardigan.

hibiscus revisited

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve deactivated the Hibiscus shawl pattern from my Ravelry store. I’ve done this so I can reknit the pattern to investigate some problems that people have been having.

I’m knitting it up in some nice merino sock yarn from Maple Creek Farm, a Rhinebeck vendor that has great yarn but I don’t think sells anywhere else! I’ve been working away at it and I’m almost done. I’m also taking this opportunity to add stitch counts throughout the pattern.

The pattern should be back up for sale very shortly. I’m also going to continue donating a portion of the sales from this pattern to Haiti relief through February. I haven’t calculated the total for the January fundraiser yet, but I know it’ll be an amazingly generous amount!

Beauchamp Cowl

The Beauchamp Cowl is up for sale! And of course, I’ll be donating 50% of the purchase price of this pattern (and all my patterns) to MSF and the Canadian Red Cross for Haiti relief, through the end of January.

This fast and fun cowl is snuggly, warm, and a great intro to stranded colourwork knitting to boot! Worked in either fingering weight or DK weight yarn, this is a great project to use up all those little bits of sock yarn or a special fibre.

twice as nice

I’ve got two new cowls off the needles and around my neck! Well, not at the same time or anything. Both are my own pattern, which I’ve named the Beauchamp Cowl.

Fingering weight version in lots of colours of Koigu.

DK weight version in 2 colours of Handmaiden 4ply cashmere – which, by the way, is really one of the most beautiful cashmeres I’ve worked with! I love it so.

The pattern is done and is just being proofread and test knit and all that good stuff. I’m just itching to get some new stuff out to you all!

dipped infinity scarf

Dipped Infinity Scarf

Snuggle up in a gorgeous ombre circle scarf this winter! Lots of ways to wear it – hanging like a scarf, wrapped like a cowl. The colour changes keep you entertained on this quick, easy knit with a fun and subtle stitch pattern. Perfect for all those leftover bits of sock yarn!

Fingering weight yarn, held double. Approximately 120 yards /110m of each of 7 colours, plus 50 yards / 55m of an 8th colour for ombre effect.
