As for the sweater? Well, I’ve got a couple on the go already, what’s one more? This is as far as I’ve gotten:

Got some yarn. Dream in Color Classy in Tea Party. I do have an idea as well, which is really half the battle! I’m going to swatch this up today and see where it goes. Meanwhile, I’m finishing up another pair of socks out of Classy leftovers.

Worsted weight socks sure are quick and fun! This one is 48 sts on 3.5mm needles, toe up with a short row heel.

Back at Rhinebeck, I started a new sweater out of Ultra Alpaca -

Should be lovely and cozy. I think I’ve decided to start another sweater for NaKniSweMo, but I’d like to get this one done too! I’m also knitting lots and lots of socks.

I’d love to get back to blogging more regularly, and I’ve got patterns for you too! Several sweaters (including my Rhinebeck ones) and some accessories too. Unfortunately I took a bit of a spill last night and ended up with a pretty big gash on my chin, so photoshoots might be a bit challenging! But a cowl can cover it up, right?

Amidst all the packing, moving, unpacking and setting up, I have been knitting:

Tanis Fiber Arts green label in Midnight – aran weight works up soooo fast!

A sweater in Koigu – the opposite of fast, but it is beautiful.

I haven’t been taking tons of photos, but I’m trying to get back into the habit. Here are some more glimpses of what I’ve been up to the past few weeks.

Oy, so disorganized! I’m happy to have such a nice full sized bedroom for my new office, though. It even has a closet!

New workstation! Still working on getting it set up – restoring from Time Machine is being a bit finicky. Might have to do a computer-to-computer transfer instead.

A free-to-me piano! Needs work, but it really belongs to one of the guys that lives upstairs from me. Just somewhere to keep it until he has somewhere else to put it – in the meanwhile, once the innards come back from the piano repairman, I’ll be playing it all. the. time.

And this week, I’ve been crocheting. I’d kind of forgotten that crochet really is awesome.

I really can’t handle the caffeine from coffee or tea (boooooo) so I’ve just not been drinking them. Then I realized that do have some nice decaf beans! Hurrah! Made some strong espresso in the mokapot and having it in my favourite mug from Anthropologie.

Starting a new swatch, too – Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Douglas Fir.

Well, I’m not going to start 2010 with a clean knitting slate, that’s for sure, although the hat above is off the needles! It’s just a simple chunky beret out of yarn that I bought at Maryland this year – Solitude heavy worsted. It’s gorgeous (and a lot heavier than what I’d consider a heavy worsted!).

2009 had its ups and downs for me, of course, but all the travel I did this year was definitely new and exciting! Back on my big trip in January, February and March, I went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Shanghai, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Chennai, Delhi, Agra, a few other towns in India, and Scotland as well. If I had to pick, I think I enjoyed Japan the most. I’d love to go back.

In May I went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool for the first time, and in June I attended TNNA in Ohio as a designer! In July I went to Hawaii for vacation with my family (and came back with lots of coffee).

In October I went to Boston, and Rhinebeck – always one of my favourite events of the year. I already can’t wait for the next one. And in the midst of all this, I moved to my own apartment and managed to knit just a bit too!
